Fella's,

In the spirit of the season and in light of what we fella's are permitted to do with our hobby, I was thinking that it was time we promote our significant others from Admiral to "High Command". Without their consent, understanding and uhhh sound reasoning among other things, we would likely do far more foolish things than we already do!

Any other's interested in supporting the promotion???

As an aside, it may help down the road in supporting our natural affinity for MBS.... :)

I'm thinkin that it is all in the presentation of said haulage and how it will "Benefit High Command"....

Uh, hmmm, pretty sure referring to Jen as "High Command" will get me nowhere.

Also pretty sure hauling any more boats home will put me in a position of living in a hostile country. I may need to seek asylum to a safer state. Can I come to Kanuckland?

Anytime Jason, I'm thinking that they already know where the status of High Command sits!:beaten: I'm also thinking that Jason better get his pole barn built, insulated, heated and furnished before he brings another boat home.

Canuckland welcomes all... even those who have many boats! :)

If a promotion won't work than just do what all Canuks do... show em who's boss.... then run fast! :) :)

Although I think it'd be better for me long term to NOT be associated w/ this type of discussion if dragging ANOTHER hull home is involved.............

They most definitely KNOW what's up, MOST of the time & love us anyway :D They also know that anything they don't know NOW, they will soon know, and are ALWAYS aware of:
where the power & authority of the High Command sits!:beaten:

However, special recognition is most DEFINITELY in order. I'm thinking it will be more appreciated & received in the manner it was intended if it is in NO WAY associated w/ anything even remotely nautical (ie: boat related).........

Perhaps:
Queen for the day

Randomly during the year, NOT in conjunction w/ ANY other special occasion, birthday, anniversary or holiday. It'd be different for each Admiral & Starmadian, so unfortunately, not a Hallmark card occasion.

IMHO ^^^^

But yes I do agree that they DESERVE recognition.

jb - It really sounds like your working hard to overcome past indulgences, and future. :faint2:

Admiral seems to fit the bill. High Command sounds more like a dictatorship to me.:watermelon:

High Command sounds nice. But, why not go all the way and use the term "Your Royal Majesty"? :D

someone, who shall not be mentioned but apparently has a latent wish to live in an empty battleship in the dead of winter, had better hope that his Management never reads this thread.......

HA! Yah, she catches me sayen stuff like that I'd be in some hot water!

Truth be told, I was rolling it around in my head, trying to recall which boats I actually "talked" to Jen about or asked permission for before I hauled them home.

Hmmmmm, maybe I'll make a quick list here...

List of boats I had a discussion about or asked permission to bring home:

1. The Islander

OK, that didn't take very long.

List of boats I hauled home as a "surprise":

1. 12 footer
2. 14' Starcraft
3. Jetstar
4. Smoker Craft
5. Sea Nymph
6. Mirro Craft
7. C-1 Canoe
8. Thumper the Baja
9. 4 Winns
10. Starcraft American
11. Arrow Glass
12. 261
13. Sea Ray

Now, here are some funny statements that took place when those boats ^^^^^ found their way onto the property....

"Why do you keep bringing these ugly boats home!!??"

"We are not a junk yard Jason!! This is embarrassing!!!"

"That is the ugliest boat I have ever seen in my whole life!" (every single time)

"Why don't you ever talk to me about these things??!!"

Interesting, it seems that those statements happen every single time a boat gets here. The other funny thing is Jen seems to be standing at the kitchen sink every time I've hauled on into the drive. That spot directly faces the drive so she get's the full effect of me bringing a beautiful marine vehicle into our lives again:becky:

OK, so yah, truth be told, I get everything I deserve and no doubt she is one tolerant woman!

Thanks Jen, you are awesome, love ya!

Man after that list of "ask for forgiveness", perhaps we shouldn't be promoting our significant others, but rather demoting ourselves.... :)

Geese, I am just trying to move from amoeba to pond scum... now I have no chance! With that many boats brought home, I would be living in one for sure by now! "The Empress of the seven known universes" for sure would have had many choice words!!!

yah, i would have been banished to somewhere outside the Seven Known Universes

and i want to keep her happy; last weekend, she was actually allowing as to how living on a boat for a few months could maybe be OK. :watermelon: (my long term evil plan for world domination, er, a floating multinational condo to escape Winter)

And of these 13, how many were on property for more then a few weeks? Which were sold/disposed of prior to bringing ANOTHER 1 home.

1st to last isn't particularly a long time frame for 13 rigs to be brought home, and honestly, it is a lot. And certainly beats my total by a few......

How many of those 13 where positive cash flow or zero sum gain to score a 'free' trailer, motor. etc for another rig?

Good on ya though, and I'm sure you've earned some latitude. The protestations are more then just merely for show, but aren't done w/ severe consequences.
