It's been a long process bringing this boat back from the dead. All through the process of water in the engine oil to finding a new engine and rebuilding it, installing the bellows three times, to getting help ID'ing the parts needed, to learning that a certain commercially available manual makes a good "knee pad"--(agreed) ;-), to an outdrive that would not reinstall. There were few times during this rebuild process when dropping the boat at a marine recycler in Rancho Cordova was tempting.

Today, I took the boat out to Lake Amador near Ione, Ca. and put 'er in. Two pumps of the throttle, hit the starter, and the engine lit right up. I cautiously took her out onto the lake, and after putting around for a time I gave her a bit of throttle and she quickly began planing. The L6 250 is one smooth, powerful engine, and the boat rides very nicely. There are some shifting issues to work out, but all in all, it was a great outing!

Now for the most important part:
This forum. Reading through the posts in this forum kept the project alive over the past months, and the answers to my questions (pleas for help?) kept the project progressing. I made some errors along the way but learned a lot from them. To all of you who have responded to my questions, Thank you.
