well, my signiture has changed. no more pwc. somebody snapped my 02 yamaha fx140 right up. $5875 w/ 238.9hrs ontoit. thought i did fair for price. the goal was to get right onto the trisonic. haveing the bread from the jetski sale. it took me all summer to decide that i want to boat, not jetski. anyways. now i'm hopeless. "after" the sale i decided to drill a hole in my ft. motor mount and see 'if' i had good wood. ( i did that in the wrong order, i know) i was haveing trouble with the ft. motor mount lag bolts not grabin to well. anyways. drill bit test let me down. wet, and dust. i'm up to a 2 5/8 hole saw now. gots me a new discovery too. i got at least a new motor mount box installed over the old one. bet ya can imagin what the box bellow looked like. i wil be confirmin soon. but i think i have two floors also. geez. what kinda creaton does that kinda poor work.
been lookin at boats in my price range, bummer, not to much around for 5-7k. seen a nice cobalt with a crack in the bottom of the hull. that didnt' do much for me......it's lookin like i may be over on the restoreation side here in the future. cant really even find anything that looks cool that i'd be hip too as of this point..........let the restoration begin? we'll see if i have the skills.......................no floor, no engine, no drive.........yikes...........i do have my work cut out if i go this restore route it seems.......
destruction to begin soon. plan is to chop it up as if i were gonna do a restore, if it don't work out, guess i'll just be that much closer to being able to chainsawin it up to dump size.......:( boatless.

bondo, i can't in my right mind use the block i have. the welder assures me that he can fix it. perhaps he can, the work he showed me at his shop seemed real satisfatory. but it would be a chance to me anyway i look at it. if it don't hold and i was on the water, to me, thereoiticly i could loose the front port corner of my block leavein me pumpin water into my boat, if i run the engine, catch 22. i boat on the missouri river which is pretty fast. and i don't want to be left hopeless and not under power there. that could turn catistrphic real easy. in short, i don't think thats a good chance to take on the water. you told me along time ago it may be time to give up on this ol skow. it may be time. dons i think told me how it was. that block, in the marine industrie is what we call junk. i think i agree to that. so that's kinda where i stand ontoit. i have kinda not gone into this in the proper order. i guess i just felt the boat had hope, but one major problem has led to the next. no point in an engine at this point as i gots no where to bolt it down too.....
#1 perhaps restore boat,
#2 reman. engine from reputable engine remanufaturer
#3 reman drive or sei.
#4 i havent run accross #4 yet. but would guess that i will......

or just give up and go get a different boat....one way or the other. i don't like not being onto the water....... perhpas i should change my signiture again to,,,,,,boatless:(

If you love the hull...Restore it!

If you don't...Find one you do, with enough determination and a little help from the resto forum, you can tackle any rebuild!

You may want to look outside your area, around here you can find PLENTY of previously loved boats for 5-7K.

Where are Wierd and Gilly? Get them to help!!!

studlym, i don't know if love is the right word. but i do like the boat i have. determination is what it's gonna require i think. i've started the destruction. so far i've found the top of the main stringers (i think it's the top of the stringer, didnt' expect it to be 6-8'' tall, but anyways, if ya push on it with yer finger, it's saturated with water. am up to the second cross member fwd of the drain hole board in the bilge. can stick my finger into the stinger and it feels like playdough. more destruction to come......

i like yer positive attitude on the restore. hope i can stay with it. guess it'd be nice if i could get it to bare hull by winter. the main floor, the 2nd one, the replaced one, is puttin up some resistance since it aint spent yet........

i see in the classified here on i boats quite a few down yer way too. i must say i'm a bit leary of a boat comeing from coastal states. i assume they've been in the salt pond..........i'm still looking though......back to work i guess.....
