I got a wellcraft nova 21 1974 and its got V8 350 engine and a volvo penta 280 trany some people say that its a pice of shi#@ and I am restoring the boat my self and I am new at boating so do I have to change it or is just bull and the thing that people are saing to me are wrong I really do not know what to do. also I have to change the floor, and give a litter more love to the paint but its a nice boat the engine have over side piston, a head job holley 750cm carb and 280 cam. its very nice but its have a lots of thing to do before going to the water so I have to start to work. hey and tell me what do I have to do whit the paint change it or re fresh it and what color should I change it to?

volvo penta is the best imo, i work at alocal marina, and everyone ive talked to agrees, the only thing wrong with the 280 is no trim, but other wise its a bullet proof leg, ours sat in a yard for 10 years with no maintainance, and other then cosmetics they were fine! even the oil was fine, we repainted ours in the new volvo grey, they were white, check out my thread in my sig for pics

That's a nice looking boat! I'd leave the colors and try and freshen them up.

I don't like the colors. If you leave those colors, you might wake up one morning and find some holes in your hull. LOL
