I got this 85 J150 V-6 that burned the stator due to a malfunctioning regulator.
Took the flywheel off, changed the stator and regulator. I know I need to torque the flywheel back to like 150-160 pounds but I see no way to hold the flywheel in order to do that.
If by any chance somebody has some experience regarding this I would appreciate your feedback / opinions / advice.
Thank You!
Nick.

You need a flywheel turner (I think K-D Tools has one). I got one (no brand) on Ebay for ~ $15 a lot of years ago. NAPA should be able to order for you. Some people just jam stuff between the starter ring and the engine ... I'm not too fond of that approach.

Re: J150-TLCOS Flywheel

thank you!
i've been digging on forums for almost the entire afternoon and seems like a 2x2 and a car safety belt might do it. i'll give it a try and will let you know.
best of all,
nick.
p.s. somehow everybody is complaining about how hard it is to take the flywheel off but nobody about how to hold it when torquing the nut, i guess i'm the stupid one that can't come up with an easy solution in here :)

You can buy a cheap automotive type flywheel holder at any auto parts store. It will work fine.

A service station will give you plenty of broken timing belts to make a strap wrench.
