J55RSLC problem with gear case?

I was cruising around when I hit some slushy water where my motor got really weak. It won't propel my boat faster than 3.3 mph and when I turn up the throttle all it does is create a lot of smoke and bubbles out of the prop. Any ideas on what happened? Is the gear case screwed up?

No not really.
Try putting it into gear and seeing if you can turn the prop. You shouldnt be able too.
I have no idea what slushy water is, maybe like the stuff in frozen coke in the petrol stations is what you mean

Perhaps try tour spare prop on there.----Could be the drive hub INSIDE the prop is slipping.

When you say "slushy water", do you mean water with ice in it ??

Changed the prop and all is well once again.
Slush - snow or ice crystals that haven't yet frozen as ice.
