Howdy guys, I have a question about this air box gasket that leaks fuel-oil mix when tilted up for travel/beaching. I've replaced the gasket, and it still leaked. Replaced it again and used some "fuel resistant" gasket maker at the bottom. It still leaks. I suspect that stuff does in fact break down eventually. At this point I'm about to just put an oil absorbent pad under the carburetor area and replace it once a year or something.
Before I do that I was just wondering if anyone has a better method of sealing the seam at the bottom. This is obviously more of an annoyance than a big problem, but more than once I've dropped the engine at the ramp and had a big oil slick from the stuff that collected in the lower cowl, and it's both embarrassing and illegal. I do run the engine out of gas, but there's still gas in the carbs when it dies.
Thanks!
