J8C spark plugs

What effects with these plugs have? I'm kinda stupid and when I took my plugs in to Autozone, they decided to give me J8C instead. I'm having an overheating and low performance issue on a 64 johnson super seahorse 40hp being dicussed in another thread. I'm just wondering the impacts of these hotter plugs.

They won't have much effect. They're a little hotter than a J6C, but that has nothing to do with your overheating or other issues.

Those problems are caused by something else entirely.

They are two steps hotter than the recommended J4C. Take them back and never go there again.

Some books call for J6Cs, but I have always had better performance from the originally specified J4C.
