Hey guys.
165HP L6 Mercruiser
Quick question.
Boats on trailor in driveway. Has small incline. Removing OD.
6 bolts off, trim arms off, but due to incline, the OD does not drop fully (90 degrees?) Seems like it has a few more inches to go..
Anybody ever had to jack up the stern to pull the OD off?
Thanks guys:cool:

Can you not drop the front of the trailer instead? ;)

I do,everything textbook..I was thinking it needed to be fully lowered..That it was binding somehow..but I'll do the come along trick I guess...Can't do the block of wood and use the arms to push it off. Hydrolic hose has 3 holes, thats one too many lol..Lifting and dropping just dented the 4X4 wood..

Is this a boat you are fixing and using or simply taking off for parts. If you are fixing and using it, why not replace the hose since it needs to be done anyway, then you can use the power of the rams? Just a thought.

I'm fixing her,(thats what I tell my other half;)) and yes I will have to replace the hose (hoses), but finding one to do it right on Sunday is pretty tough..Local Autozones dont have anything near the PSI requirements..
Figured I'd get this done this afternoon while I had some precious free time.

Ayuh,....

I believe you'll find that the fittings are the same as 1/8" inverted flare automotive Brake Lines.....
PSIs seen in the trim system run about 800 to 1600psi..... Much lower than automotive Brakes...

This is Only noted as an FYI, to possibly find workarounds in unique situations.....;)
