I have a guy wanting to trade my jetski for a boat he has. He told me it is a 1989 34 jam ram. The side says jam ram. It is a flat bottom all aluminum deck boat. Iv been around boats all my life and iv seen nothing like this. The bottom has a front like a V bottom speed boat. It is a V in the front but quickly goes to being flat on the bottom. The boat is very shallow on the water from the water line id guess 8 to 12 inchs max. The top is alot like a deck boat or pontoon. Sqaured off all aluminum and the deck over hads the V by several feet. Its layed out like a center console with the helm and engine compartment centered town the back with a rather large awning over top. It has a 5.8 inboard motor. He told me he bought it a few years ago for fish and before that it was a charter boat on a local river. Im including some pics can anyone tell me exactly what it is its value and where i can find some info on it online. Google is not working for this is

Welcome aboard:

I've seen hull styles like that one, but I'm not familiar with that boat. There should be a Hull Identification Number stamped in the back of the boat somewhere. The first few letters of that will give you the Manufacturers code you can use to dig up who made it.

From the photo's: (in my opinion) the value is roughly the cost of the gas to haul it off their property. It looks like it's in pretty rough shape, but that's just based on what I can see. There is a sticky at the top of this forum that's very good information. In used boats, it's all about condition. The more rehabilitation the boat needs, the less it's initial value.

Ayuh,.... Donno the hull, but a 5.8l is a Ford, which is a non-starter for me,....

Ford has been outa the Marine business for well over a decade, 'n were very limited in the Marine market, since the 70s,....

It does seem in good shape. The hull all seems solid everything seems to be there. Though iv yet to see it run. The owner wants to work out a trade on my jetski. My dad priced it at 2200 its a 2001 xl1200 yamaha. The owner seems to think the boat is worth 4 grand my jetski 2200 thus wants 1800 bucks. Since my jetski has a rebuilt top end is running i think a even up trade or maybe 500 bucks with the jetski is a good deal all around

So the "deal" is your jetski AND money to boot? WOW, I know I would pass on that. But then the offered boat really doesn't appeal to me in the least either. The guy knows he can easily turn your jetski into quick cash, especially with spring around the corner. But he equally knows his boat not so easy. Only certain folks would be interested in that style boat not the usual boater's boat... But he knows that as well. And that is only my opinion. You should understand that spring time issue as well. You could easily sell off your jetski this coming spring without problems... JMHO!

Pass on this one. Definitely not worth your running jet ski, and he wants money to boot! Yeah I don't think that's a good deal for you. Unless it's the boat you've always wanted, and searched high and low for a better version.
