Wow. This is the hardest motor to find stuff for. I have a 30M 689 (S) 021815 motor. I took a stater, linkage, flywheel and stator off a 1985(I think) Japan 30HP 30EL 689/416715 Mariner and put it on mine so I could have electric start. I just need to know what the timing is or where to find a manual for the EL motor so I don’t burn a nice little hole in the piston Lol. I have everything back together and it runs fine but don’t want to risk it until I check the timing. I have found true TDC and set the pointer to 0. For those who are going to ask, I uses a dial indicator on piston. Right now with a timing gun it is running about 3 degree before TDC (BTDC) at idle. Any any help at all would be helpful and appreciated.
