(I posted this in boat building/resto yesterday, but no bites yet.) My (new to me) 1990 Javelin 366 F&S has rear seats that are supposed to double as pedastal seats. Problem is the are stuck in place. I was told by the previous owner to pull them straight up. They rock and twist a little, but won't come up. Anybody run into this problem?

Re: Javelin F&S rear seats stuck

I have a 93 Stratos S/F with the same seat setup as yours. My seats have not stuck, but I can see how a little bit of dirt and a long period of non-use can cause them to stick. The seat pole and the bushing it rides in are a tight fit when clean and lubed. You may try a water flush under the seat to try and knock out any debris in the bushing. There should be a small drain right beside the bushing to get rid of the excess water.
If that does not get it, a small spray of a losening oil may get things sliding again.
Let me know how it goes.

Re: Javelin F&S rear seats stuck

Thanks for your reply Ken. I got one out today, it helps to see exactly what I'm up against. The seat base/pole assembly is heavily rusted. The other one is still stuck. I'll try to hit it with some WD-40.
