:mad: i got a manual but my huskie tried to read it and took out the section of the lower unit and clutch does anyone have a copy that they could scan and email me ???<br /> it would be great<br /> thanx bill

well i got lower unit off but shifter assembly wont budge the guy at brownes point say i have to take the prop sahft out??? i think im drowning my self with this >>><br /> :eek: :confused:

My similar problem was in the clutch. The forward plunger was completely worn out. 1990 and newer you can get the part for $4. Of course anything older(I have a '87)you have to buy the whole assembly. $350.

ouch <br />i cant seem to get this thing apart i have to take out the prop shaft to get the assembley to come out. this realy is a learning curve . but ama greatfull for the help and ideas here thanks

well i got it apart every thin on shifter seemed ok the 2 jam nuts were loose so i made a slight adjustment and tightened them up back together every thing seemed to go into gear fine by had so i slid it back together and i still have reverse but now forward grinds even more<br /> :mad: guess i have to drop it down again and adjust that double threaded rod???? the other way ??<br />all i can do is laugh at this point

well after filling the gearcase back up i still ahd to take out shifter 3 more timed but i think i finnally got it a few cable adjustments yet and well its now 8 pm been on it sinse 9 am <br />gonna take her out to lake and see what happins

well we hit the lake after work and :D ran for over an hour start n stop then i hit something i think it was a ski ( not a skier) and back to same thing no reverse was a long 2 hour troll back but i think the 2 jam juts on the shifter rod came loose i think that is what was wrong to first time cause they were way off form being jammed well back at it ill keep ya posted if anyone cares

just saw the thread....<br /><br />while your experience is painful it gives me hope that mine will not be a major problem when i can get to it.<br /><br />when performing the adjustment i would clean the shift mechanism parts thoroughly with a final clean in alcohol. then apply locktite ( the one for small parts i forget the color)<br /><br />good luck

thanks jay i didnt even think about that but i havent had time either but im off sunday so if i get a chance im rippin her lower unit off again and diggin in i was so upset that someone lost there ski and of course i had to hit it <br />oh well lol<br />thanks again i'll keep ya posted
