I am stumped... I am wiring my 1999 jeep and I don't have any brake lights. I am hard wiring and not buying the adaptor plug. I taped in to the right side turn. And the left turn and the brake lights. How do I get tail lights.. Has any body done this before

I don't have a way to buy the harness... And I'm not to keen on leaving the trailer wire in the jeep. I an doing it the old fashion way of just taping in to the tail lights

The Cequent is only 18 bucks and whatever you were willing to do to the wiring is about the same installation.

The money is not really the problem ... It's a Sunday and I have no where to buy one and I need to use the lightining today... Not sure where I can even get one besides online ... We don't have a trailer store around here... Do all separate turn signal cars have to have a converter

Why don't you just buy the direct plug in model? Really like hacking up wiring? Should be $40-$60 depending on where you buy it.

Jeep

That being said, it appears that it would work as long as you hook it up right.

Any auto parts store or fleet farm is going to have the one you need. 99 Grand Cherokee is about as common a vehicle as there is.

I just rigged my jeep so the brakes and blinkers worked to get by for a weekend. Just didn't drive it at night. Then bought the converter when the parts store was open.

The converter doesn't do anything for the night time running lights. It's only for the brake and turn.

Re: Jeep grand Cherokee wiring

My bet is that he wired his brakes to the tails and blinkers to the turn/brakes

Well yes I did. I know not right but I had just bought the thing, family coming up and needed the boat at the lake. As stated in my other post,I did fix it right the following week.
