Jet boat conversion - anyone ever done this?

On my local craigslist there is a free 1976 Jester boat set up for a outboard. Pretty cool looking boat, I am thinking about picking it up, putting a new floor in it and building a jet boat out of it. I have a rebuilt Chev 350 in my garage. so all i would need is the jet drive. has anyone done this before? is it worth the trouble of doing? any advice would be great!

I'm sure it could be done but you'd probably like it better with and outboard.

Most jets run big blocks because the need the extra power and still are slower than an outboard.

And they steer like barges!
