I've got a 20 HP Mercury outboard engine. I believe it to be a 1960's model. I know some engine can be converted from a prop to a jet... can this be done with this engine?

I live close to a river and can't do much with a prop in the shallow water.

Re: Jet Conversion

B. H.
The Outboard Jet conversion will add 5" to the length of your motor...ie, a longshaft will turn into a xlong shaft motor with the jet...20" to 25"...If you have an easy to plane boat you can take on some real shallow water...just a Thought

:)

Re: Jet Conversion

You might consider a jackplate with some setback. As a rule of thumb, you can raise the engine 1/2" for every inch of setback.

c/6
Hooty
