Your best bet it is to get a shop manual for your motor, if you don't have one already. I'm sure they'll have the steps for changing a water pump. It's a pretty common proceedure. At any rate, follow their directions. If you have any doubt in your ability to do it, get your digitial camera out and take pictures as you go. Document what you do and where things go so your're sure to get it back together.

They ate not quite as easy a prop.
Google. Specialty MFG. CO. San Leandro CA. go to there website..
The have blow ups on all there jet drives. There should be a small plate on the lower port side that tells you the model number of thst jet.

Yo have remove the grate( six bolts) The jet impeller, 4 bolts under that impeller, and the outside bolts on the lower end. 3or 4 bolts.
Before you do anything, you need to check the clearance between the jet impeller and the liner for correct clearance. should be .03 in.(.8mm) if larger you will have to re shim on installation.
Better find a manual.

Re: jet on 50hr change water pump

I run a jet on a '74 50 and it's just like a regular outboard to replace the water pump: Remove three nuts and the jet unit drops down. The water pump is located on top of the jet unit, pretty much where it would be on a standard lower unit. You shouldn't have to remove the grate or mess with the impeller. Maybe your drive shaft is stuck?

my jet drive is on a 82 90hp in line 6 it has 4 bolts 1 on the front of the mid section where it contacts the jet, 1 bolt on the rear of the mid section and 1 on each side . after you have taken these off, with the motor in the down position, lay a block of wood on the ground under the drive. If you do not have a dead blow hammer.lay a 2nd piece of wood on the drive and strike it move the wood to another spot and strike it again. repeat until you see a crack between drive and midsection. Carefully insert a screwdriver or thin bar in crack and pry gently. It will come. When reinstalling the drive DO NOT GREASE THE SPLINES !! in fact clean the shaft thoroughly. I always do this once a year. After I went through all that trouble the first time , it always came off easy after that.(no hammering or prying) Once a year you should remove your impeller also , when putting it back on, coat inside the impeller with never seize. Good luck.
