That's a rather odd question. You use the sea level jet size(that's in the motor now) in your part of country and throat size isn't a measurement we use for anything.

i have a 40 d i have changed the exhaust tube to the 50 d looking to find a little more power

I see where you are going with this now. Depending on your engine's serial number you can boost a 40 to a 50. If you have a later model, its the tube, carbs and a piece of linkage that have to be changed. If you have an older 40 D you would need a new engine block. What's your serial number?

m40d 3c8 33225 I think it is a 1993 the block is gray i have a spare block its black this is the #s for it [ m40d 3c8 37951 ] i have changed the tube to the 50

Both of those 40's would require new blocks, crankshafts, exhaust tubes and carburetors to be brought up to a 50 hp. The blocks would have to be 98's or newer to get away with just the carb and tube replacement....You might see a slight improvement with just the tube, but I doubt it would worth the trouble to change it out.

thats my luck it took me three years to find this one maybe ill find a 1998 + one day there getting hard to find
