I had difficulties with my old 150hp 86 evinrude outboard. I got a rebuilt powerhead that is 200 hp bored .030. The guy i bought it from said they were the same blocks so the carbs would bolt right up.I posted a few weeks back about this and someone told me to rejet for the bigger motor. I am wondering where i can find the stock jet sizes for the 200 HP which is a 1979? Also should i jet up a little bigger because of the boring? I know that the stock 150hp jets were 33 and the ones in float bowls are 29. If anyone can help then great and if this doesnt' make sense I am sorry. Thanks in advance!!!

You are looking at the wrong jet, will be home Monday and will look it up for you, I think the blocks had different part numbers, which means it is not the same, but it might work, does the block have a 1 inch round plug in top with the model number, and what is the model number of your engine.

The blocks have different porting, but you can use your 150 carbs with no problems. Keep in mind the carbs are jetted for their venturi size (ammount of incoming air) and the fuel that was available at that time. You may want to jet up for todays fuel because it runs leaner (hotter) than 1986 fuel. If you are going to run something other than 86 octane or Champion plugs you might want to richen up the jets also. Including the mid-range jets.

Good luck!

Main Jet 150 CD 1986 low speed 33M, High 56C.
Main Jet 200 CD 1986 low speed 26M, intermediate
43M, high speed 57D. The GT/XP engines are different. The 150 does not list intermediate jet.

What type of fuel are you going to use? What top RPM are you going for? What plugs? Also list the jet numbers that are in the carbs you are going to try. If you start changing jets, remember to always use "C" style high speed jets in the V6 crossflow.

Let us know!
