I was told that I could make my 112hp a 140 with some new carbs. Was wondering how true that was. Any discussion would be appreciated.

does it have the bubble back exhaust cover or the flat version?

If it did have the bubble back it would pretty much be the same engine as the old crankshaft rated crossflow 140hp.

The 112 looks like it was a bubble back. In that case, jimmbo's comments are correct. That engine was made as a propshaft-rated 115. Will perform close to the crank rated 140's of the past. The old 135/140s had better heads and the 140's had the intake filler blocks. Your engine should have the good carbs.
