johnson 115HP speedometer not working

I have a 2001 Hydra sport 18' CC Johnson 115 HP motor. The speedmeter doesn't work. any ideas?

Eddie, can you tell more about the setup. Is it with a paddlewheel, pitot-tube or otherwise receiving input? Know all about the pitot-tube getting fouled with weed etc. less about other systems. Others will know for sure ! Good luck
