Johnson 15 hp. What year is it?

i got a 15 hp Johnson today and i would like to know how i find what year it is. The starter seems bad and i want to replace it. Most of the numbers i found that were close none have the C in front of it.

It is a 1987 model.

The first "C" means it was made in Canada. Other countries had different codes but if there were no first letters, that meant it was a US motor.

Thanks for the help. Not sure if thats a good thing or not made in canada but it has to be beter than made in the other C.
