After lightning hit my boat, I've been trying to fix electrical problems. Got everything working except for tach. Put meter on battery and cranked engine. No change in reading. Local dealer ordered rectifier regulator for me for $250. Haven't picked it up yet. This sounds a little high for a rectifier/ regulator. Any suggestions?

250$ is not crazy high for that unit.
you could get it for about 225$ area online without shipping etc. so he's not out of order on $$
personaly i think 200$$ for any voltage regulator is nuts but thats the parts industry.

I did the exactsame thing. Put the tach on..and nothing...and it is the rectifier. Mine costs 250.00 here in PA. For me I'm going to have them put it on also.
