Is it possible to hydraulic lock a OB with the fuel bulb while runing?

Yesterday, while running at 2500 rpm, it felt like the prop hit something in the water. I turned to see what happen, and my son was in the back pumping the fuel bulb. I stopped lifted the motor to check for damage and there was no visible signs of hitting anything. After this episode, the OB ran fine.

I've seen what can happen to an OB that hydraulic locked, but appeared fine at the time. A short time later, a rod came through the side of the block.

Should I be worried or anything I should check?
