I have a 2000 Johnson 150 j150VXSSS that has run great until this summer. After about 1/2 hour of running(great) the motor acted like it was starving for gas. I had the carbs cleaned, replaced the plugs, fuelfilter, and emptied the gastank, and refilled w/new premium fuel and fuel stabilizer. After about 1/2 hour the problem returned and the bottom left plug was fouled...Help please

Make sure you have the correct plugs. That motor was designed to run on 87 octane. You might want to consider draining the tank and getting the right octane.

OMC motors run best with Champion plugs.....get the right Champs in there and see if the problem continues...I don't know your plug off hand..there is a plug chart on here some where.....

When I got my boat it had NGK's in it ..The PO said thats all they had when he went to Lake Champlain when he had troubles....
Well after a few runs my motor was running funny....Iposted here and was told to get the Champs...I installed the Champs and problem solved and been 3 years now....

also when you said it ran great..but you changed the plugs..what plugs were in it Prior......

worth a shot....
