Hello all,
I am in the process of putting my 1989 Johnson 150 GT engine back together. I am getting ready to put my heads back on and I have read two different opinions on weither to put sealer on the head gaskets or not. The head gaskets I have seem to have a semi-sticky surface on them and were seperately wrapped in the gasket set with celephane. I assumed that this meant that these gaskets already had a sealing agent on them and that I do not need to seal the gaskets with the sealing compound.

Do I or do I not need to apply sealing compound to these gaskets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No additional sealer is needed. The metal surfaces should be clean and dry.
