Hello,
I have a 2004 Johnson 150 (J150PXSRB) and would like to install a temperature gauge on each cylinder head. I have checked the factory water temperature switches both electrically and in a hot water bath and they are working correctly but would like to have gauges that I can monitor on the console.
After reading this forum it seems that I will need to use a head contact sender vs. using a sender in the cooling water. There is a 1/8? NPT tap into each head that I assume is a good location for the sender? Does the sender just screw into this tap with air around it or does it need some sort of heat conducting material like grease etc?
My gauges are Faria which I plan to use unless someone suggested a better gauge.
This is a great forum and I appreciate everyone?s help, Gary
