Johnson 200 Hp GT ?

I have run into a local Deal! Just wondering what a 1994 Johnson 200 HP GT, vj200slens,G-03047288, would be worth? It has been used 4 times, and put under a car port in storage. It was last used 2 years ago, removing the cowling....emaculate!....everything is original...clean and untouched. Boat is a 1994 Deckliner 204...needs cleaned up...tuned on key to check...all lights work....motor turned with just a touch...trailer good shape...clean...need new tires,,,what am I getting into.....owner asking 5000.00....what do you think?...petey I am assuming the motor is a 94...but S# is as above...

The GT is a 1992 Model by engine number.<br />For only being used 4 times, I would be very concerned about the internal condition of the engine.<br />Also, never turn an outboard over without water to the pump, 15 secs. can ruin one, but if it's sat for 2 years, it needs to have a new waterpump anyway.<br />Ave retail for that boat with the 92 GT is about 7200.00, so If the boat is in GOOD shape, and a pre-purchace shows the engine to be in GOOD shape, I think you found a good deal.

Thanks for the reply......looks like its going to be a purchase day for me...did not sleep well thinking about it. Like I said this boat looks like a deal, owner bought from a guy 2 years ago, he used it twice, and the previous owner used it only two times also...took up golf.<br />With a trip to the boat shop for engine service, and pump replacement, its going to be a different summer....no more Force motor to deal with!!!<br />And by the way...turning the key was just a bump...not a full fleged crank up.<br />thanks again.......petey
