Johnson 200 idle

I have a Johnson 200 offshore it runs great at mid to wide open throttle. When I go to idle it seems to be searching going from low idle rpm and jumping to high idle speed without touching the throttle and I notice a miss on and off? Thanks for any suggestions!<br />jimmy

Sync and link may help you.If one or more of those carbs is hanging even slightly open at idle while the others are closed it could cause your symptoms.Cable adjustments also come to mind but are part of the sync and link procedure.Anyway ,proper timing,sync ,and adjustment is the first step in most troubleshooting.

Thanks Hondon I checked the linkage and adjustments per the manual it was ok. I found one of the ingnition coils had a bad ground replaced it and it took care of the problem just wonder why it did not effect it on the mid to top end? Thanks for your reply it helped!<br />jimmy
