Johnson 200 ocean runner Not Charging

this engine has been charging intermitingly. to give you some background, the previous owner replaced the STATOR, cleaned the timer base and replaced the flywheel magnets in february 2003.<br /> I replaced the Rectifier in Jan. 2004 (tac was eratic)<br /> Last week it stopped charging, I reved the engine and it started to charge, that lasted 1 hr. where do I go from here

First and easiest thing to do is clean all of the battery connections and the grounds on the motor. Next make sure the battery is not the issue by doing a load test. If all that is good, then follow the troubleshooting guide in the factory manual for engine not charging to pinpoint the source of the problem. Hope it's the simple stuff.<br />Good luck

SUBWAYJO,<br /><br />Take a look at the voltage rectifier and see if the wires are burned.I've seen this on several V6 OMC'S.Newer regulators wire in a bit different,But they won't say there was a problem,just a change.<br /><br />DHP
