HI folks,
It's been a long time since I've been on here. I am working on a boat for a friend and I have a question. It's a 1993 Johnson 225 Venom that needs carb work. Specifically, float and seat replacement. I already have the parts, and am ready to tear into it. I hit a speedbump early on though. I went to take the airbox cover off. I'm assuming it's referred to as airbox cover. It's the black cast aluminum thing that's bolted to all the carbs. Anyway, I went to take that thing off, and there are apparently 2 hard lines in my way. I'm assuming they're oil? My question is, do I need to take those off? I can, I just have to get a 18mm crowfoot to get down there. Since they're apparently oil, do I have to cap them off, or can I just let them bleed until I get the airbox cover off, and put them back on?
Thanks for your help!
