On Johnson 25 hp 1983 JTECTE I am missing a screw on the choke support bracket. The picture shows the location. Three of the screws holding the plate are 10-24 machine screws. The hole without the screw is larger than the other three 10-24 screws. I am assuming that a previous owner drilled it out. Should I be concerned about not having a screw in this hole? If I should be concerned, why should I? I can?t think of a CRITICAL reason. Is it possible that there is actually an OEM original screw of a different size? The parts catalog doesn?t show a different size screw.
I apologize for such a simple question.
Thanks
Terry Sandlin

No, its not a screw hole. And the previous owner didn't drill it out. The carb was made that way. Don't worry about it.
Enjoy your new motor. :)
