johnson 25 recoil

i broke the housing on my 1975 johnson 25hp recoil housing.....is there a way to fix this? maybe have it welded? or does anyone know where i can find one?

At first I thought why doesn't he just go to a dealer and buy one? Then I checked and saw that they are $146.00. Good reason.

Those housings were used for many years but you have to watch that you get the right one. There must be at least half a dozen variations in the area where the rope comes out in order to accomodate various motor hoods.
