Johnson 25hp Rpm's

I have a 1988 Johnson 25hp. I just rebuilt my carburetor and need to set the idle. What should the RPMs be testing it in a barrel in my yard. Also where does the rpms be in the water. Thanks in advanced for the help.

I just set them as slow as it will run without stalling.

^^Agree. Combination of adjusting idle air screw and throttle idle. Make sure red valve on primer is set parallel to the solenoid body for running.
