I have an older Johnson 3 hsp. outboard motor<br />late 1940 to 1950's<br />Where do I find the Model Number on the motor?<br />Thanks

Howdy, Wormpowders.<br /><br />The engine ID plate should be riveted to the mounting clamp.<br /><br />If it is gone, look for a freeze plug on the block. The numbers should be there, too.<br /><br />Good luck.

It would be a number such as this:<br /><br /> 1952-54' #3012 3013<br /> <br /> 1955' #3014

Also look for a JW or JH with numerical digits behind...such as JW-10 (on the plate).
