I just went through a 4 hp johnson for a friend of mine and it worked great , but I was wondering, how does the fuel system work, It seems that there is no induction, via, the Pulses of the engine in the crankshaft area. Fill me in, if you could please.

Re: Johnson 4

Hello PDS,<br /> The Johnson 4's are a very simple design motor, which makes them reliable also_Once you start pulling that starter cord, the fuel is drawn through the carb, past the reed valve and scavenged(pulled)into the combustion chamber via the piston(s) movement in the cylinder.(intake stroke). If your REALLY curious, find a reference with diagrams of the 2 cycle motor. :)
