Johnson 40 hp carb problem

My 40 hp cuts out when I try to give it full throttle--I can keep it running by using the auto-choke off and on. Is there something stuck in one of the carbs? Can I do something --paper clip, spray, etc. without rebuilding the whole carb or carbs?

Probably not the answer you want to hear.......but I'd thoroughly clean & rebuild the carbs, check the fuel pump, and tighten all gas line fittings. If you do the work yourself, you're looking at an expensive tuneup that will pay for itself in the long run.<br />Backlash
