Johnson 4hp model year help please.

I am going to look at a Johnson 4.0 Deluxe in the morning. The seller does not know what year it is but said the model number is 4588-CEC. I couldn't find it online at the website I know about. Can anyone help me out? Does that number seem incorrect? Thanks!

Does that number seem incorrect? Yes it does.<br /><br />If CEC is part of the model number the whole number should read like this:<br />4RDHCE-4RDHLCE 4 hp 1989 <br />4RCE-4RLCE 4 hp 1989 <br />4BRHCE-4BRHLCE 4 hp 1989<br /><br />4588 looks like an Evinrude but that doesn't match either.<br /><br />Talk to him again or better still, check for yourself.
