Johnson 4hp waterflow diagram, please help!

I have an 85' 4hp johnson that was overheating due to blocked water passages in the block. In the photo i drew a waterflow diagram but im not sure if water flows out only at part A? or if there is in fact a passage at the top of the block aswell marked as B?
I want to put her back together but i just need someone to confirm that water only flows out at A, cos i cant see any passage out at the top of the block at all :/.

According to the flow chart I have it goes out point B. Water has to circulate around the cyl's before being discharged.
