Hi guys!

I got an old Johnson 50 Seahorse 1975 from my uncle. The motor worked without any problems all summer long, he said. But now it doesn't have a spark.

After some troubleshooting, I discovered there?s a new and cheaper model powerpack (part nr.: 581926 CD2) on it instead of the original (part nr.: 058137).

Could the powerpack be my problem? And is it possible to fix this problem by replacing this one for the same new powerpack (part nr. 581926 CD2)?

Thanks in advance!

power pack could be your problem.. do you have a DVA adapter to test stator with?? other wise you will just be guessing

Re: Johnson 50 1975 Powerpack

I checked all voltages and ohms. I noticed that there isn't going a current trough the two wires from the powerpack to the ignition coils (orange and orange w/ blue). Both sensor wires give signal. Disconnecting kill wire also doesn't solve the problem. Black wire is properly grounded. I really don't know what the brown and brown w/ yellow are supposed to do.

Wires connected to powerpack:
Black/White : Sensor 1
White/Black : Sensor 2
Black : Ground
Black/Yellow : Kill wire
Orange/Blue : Current to ignition coil 1
Orange : Current to ignition coil 2
Brown : ??
Brown/Yellow : ??

The brown wire and brown and yellow wire , these go to the stator.
