Johnson 50 Alarm

Guys, I just got a "new" 2000 50HP Johnson 2-stroke and took it out last Saturday for the first time. I think there might be a short in the alarm because it kept going off.

For example, as soon as I put the boat in the water and turn the key one click, not even cranking it, it would go off; a continuous "beep." It also beeped randomly throughout the day. It was "peeing" perfectly normal the whole day and I was running the correct 50:1 ratio with Yamalube, so I don't know what's wrong with it.

Anybody had this problem? I don't want to disconnect it but I also can't have it beeping constantly.

Thanks
