johnson 50 hp 1997 prop removal

Ok ..I spun the hub on my prop. I was in deep water so i guess it was just getting old. Anyway..I cant get it off because it spins when I try to take the nut off the shaft when i am holding the prop. There is not much to hold on to at all on the end of the shaft. How do I get it off?

Put the engine in gear and have the flywheel held by putting a wrench on the flywheel nut.

thanks kart that what my mechanic and i did eventually. We have to melt the prop off the boat now though.
