Johnson '63 18 hp - fair price

I am looking to buy my uncles 18 hp Johnson '63 FDL. It hasn't seen use since '91 and only 4-6 times from 1975 - 1991. It appears in good shape.<br /><br />Any suggestions on a fair price? Also... are there any major factors to consider on this unit (parts, reliability). I want to be fair with him. Besides carb kit and water pump rebuild, any concerns I should look at?<br /><br />Thanks in advance.<br /><br />Dave

Hi Dave,<br /> I recently sold one that had all the maintenance stuff already done for $350.00. Probably could have gotten a bit more if it looked better, as it was faded, scratched, etc. I put new impeller, points, coils, condensers, lower unit seals, hoses, and plugs in it. It ran a lot better than it looked...<br />- Scott
