My faithful little kicker(Johnson Seahorse) hasn't been run for over a year. The other day, I changed the gear oil, plugs, and flushed the carb. It started third pull and ran solid. Only problem was, It wasn;t shooting water. I felt the block and it was pretty hot after only a short run. Here's the question. Shoud I buy the new pump from a marine supply store or take the little ******* in for service. Does the cost outweigh the convenience? Any OMC pro's have advice.

THE WATER PUMP SERVICE ON YOUR ENGINE IS FAIRLY SIMPLE .I GUESS IT BOILS DOWN TO WHEATHER OR NOT YOU WANT TO SPEND THE CASH.IF YOU DO IT YOUR SELF JUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE WATER TUBE AND BE SURE YOU LINE IT BACK UP PROPERLY OTHER WISE NOT MUCH TO IT . GOOD LUCK
