I have a 1977 Johnson Sea Horse that has had very litle use.The previous owner used it once a year for the first five years.I purchased it two years ago and have used it 6 times. It ran fine at first.I put new Champion plugs in today. The gap is set at .30.The motor runs fine at full throtle however if I try to run slow it dies.Could someone please give me some advice?Thank you very much.

with little use you might want to take carb off and clean real good. was it doing this before you changed plugs and what size plug are you using

ekalb, turn out the low speed mixture knob counterclockwise until it is in your hand. Take a can of carb cleaner and spray it in the opening where the needle came out, for 3 to 5 seconds. Screw the needle back in until it stops. Not to tight. Then back it out ccw for 1 to 1/2 turns. It's a possible quick fix for you. If it doesn't work ,Its time to tear it down completely. nevjb
