just bought this from a friend and when i put it in foward it turns in reverse put in reverse it turns foward looks like the lower unit has been changed could it be the wrong unit or could someone have chaged the reverse and foward gears around?
Disconnect the shift cable at the engine, then shift the engine by hand at the engine shift linkage.... forward is forward etc etc.<br /><br />If the engine shifts normally, the problem is within the control box.
