Hey guys! I just bought a 1976 Johnson Seahorse as a replacement motor. I just installed it. It trottles up real well and sounds good but the one problem that I can detect with it is that it misfires and sputters (sometimes cutting off) when it is throttled down all the way in neutral... I wondering if anybody had any advice or suggestions of how to fix that (if there is a fix) or if it's too huge of an issue.
Any comments would be much appreciated!!
Please Help,
Matt

Pull the spark plugs and see how they look. Could be they're getting fouled. Also check for fuel filter plugging up, and be sure vent is open on fuel tank...

Hey,
Thanks for the response. I checked the plugs and they are fine, opened the vent although it didn't help much really and took apart the fuel filter and it was spotless. It still ran a little choppy when in neutral so I'm going to put a product called BG44K to clean out all the carbon buildup and run it down at a local lake pretty hard to see if that doesn't clean some gunk out that might be causing it to act like that. If you have any other suggestions, please leave them.
Thanks
