The motor is NOT TURNING fast enuff with plugs in.-----Have battery load tested.----Check starter cables.-----What did you do to fix starter ?----Replaced brushes ?------Did you take an ohm reading from commutator to the shaft, yes or no ??

From commutator to the little stub shaft.----Should read infinity.----Starter repair is basically the same whether it is boat , lawn mower or truck.

I will test that when I get off work...here at Harley we don't ever go in them it's just replacing whole starter...i really don't want to admit this but when I did take starter apart 1 of the magnets had a crack all the way down the magnet another boat guy said it was fine to use as long as it was still magnetized right....plus I wanna make sure motor runs before dumping money into parts...

Shop time and picky customers dictate that a new starter be installed.------Folks with lots of $$$ will argue if you try and save them some $$.-----You are working on your own motor and it is easy to diagnose before spending coins.-------Pull it over with a rope to see if it runs.

Did you check your starter to see what is wrong ?---Lots of used starter housings with good magnets around I would think----Not sure I want to rely on a $50 offshore starter.----Your location ?

When I did a search just for starters Forum them that was about the average price so I figured it'd be better off having a brand new one than a used one.. also I'm in Southwest Florida

late to the party -- but might consider ARCO starters (Pensacola).

She got the new starter on I had spark for half a second and then back to the same issue and I was in a hurry so I disconnected my battery to put in my truck and I noticed the wires were hot that we're going to the battery

So I got the new starter on the boat I had a spark for half a second and then running into the same issue I had other things to do so I decide to unhook the battery put in the truck and both positive and negative battery terminals wires or hot
