Made in China??

Since the water pump was replaced, has the stream of water been better than it is now? If yes, have you ever run the motor without using "muffs" or without the motor being submerged in the water? If no, then maybe whoever replaced the water pump didn't do it correctly.

Regarding the idle adjustment knob ... here's the wording from my owner's manual:

"The idle speed adjustment knob is located at the end of the steering handle. Before turning the knob, be sure the throttle is at SLOW and the motor has reached normal operating temperature.

* Increase idle speed - turn knob clockwise
* Decrease idle speed - turn knob counter-clockwise"

what often happens is the small tell tale tube and/or the connection it connects to on each end ,can get debrius build up,you can try blowing air,or force a garden hose pressure up into it to clearMake certain though your not overheating, you should be able to place your hand on the cylinder head with out it being so hot you cant put your hand on it for 5-10 seconds without a burning.

thanks guys. the water streams out very well at idle andabove just not at 1.2-1.4 mph acording to my garmin gps, and yes there is a sticker inside on the engine that says assembled in china. the plate on the transom bracket says model ,serial, base mass, kg. and a2 tone scribbily.looplig lines. no numbers. could this be in code? this motor came from one of the larger marine dealers in north idaho. they dont seem to know the answers as they have switched from j/e to honda motors, so they dont service j/e. just curious. the motor runs great, just some details i dont understand, like the idle adjustment, so are you suppose to turn it up as you try to adjust for slower trolling speed? thanks again for your replys
