johnson 9.5 only runs when choked

I have come across an Johnson Seahorse 9.5 , Model # 9R-73B , Serial # J3754268 .<br />The pull cord was pulled out when I purchased the motor. I can get it to run with the choke pulled out but, as soon as I push the choke back in the motor stops. I took it out to the lake and the motor runs fine as long as it is choked. I've tried to adjust the Lean/rich and this dosen't seem to help much. After running the motor for around 10 mins, If I kill it I have to wait around 5 Mins. or so before I can get it to crank again also. Hope this is enough information.<br /> Thanks Daniel

Sounds like you have a carb problem. If you haven't cleaned your carbs lately or at all, do it. Also replace your spark plugs, this is the mother of most evils in smaller ob.
